The device has been affixed in compliance with the court’s order to ensure continuous monitoring of the accused’s movements.*A GPS tracker anklet is a wearable electronic device secured around the ankle, enabling real-time location tracking and ensuring strict adherence to bail conditions.*As per case details FIR No. 292/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act and Section 111 BNS was registered at Police Station Udhampur. The accused, Mukhtar Ahmed S/o Mohd. Rashid R/o Karmara, District Poonch had applied for bail and the Hon’ble Court directed the installation of a GPS-enabled anklet as a mandatory condition.Udhampur police is the first in Jammu division, to utilise modern technology in the shape of GPS anklets for stringent surveillance on narcotics offenders .
