RAMBAN POLICE ARRESTS ABSCONDER & TRACES OUT A MISSING LADY Ramban, November 19 Continuing its firm commitment towards maintaining law and order, District Police Ramban achieved two significant breakthroughs, arrest of a long-absconding accused and the successful recovery of a missing woman in separate actions carried out by police teams.In a major breakthrough under the ongoing drive against absconders, a police team of Police Station Ramban led by ASI Ravinder Kumar Sharma (EXJ-966407) and SgCt Shubam Verma (674/RBN) arrested Zahir Abass, who had been evading arrest since 2019. The accused, Zahir Abass S/O Lal Din R/O Gursai, District Poonch, was wanted in FIR No. 183/2018 U/S 379 RPC registered at PS Ramban. A warrant under Section 335 BNSS (512 CrPC) had been issued by the Hon’ble Addl. Special Mobile Magistrate, Ramban for his arrest.The apprehended absconder will be produced before the Hon’ble Court for further legal proceedings.In another significant development, Ramban Police traced a missing woman reported from the district.A missing report of Rubeena Begum (35 years), W/O Rakhil Ahmed, had been registered vide DDR No. 15 dated 12.11.2025 at Police Station Ramban. The search was entrusted to PSI Reshiv Choudhary.Through technical assistance and reliable sources, the police team successfully located the missing lady at her sister’s home in Kishtwar. She has been safely recovered and handed over to her husband after completion of legal formalities.District Police Ramban reaffirms its commitment to public safety and security by ensuring swift action against absconders and prompt tracing of missing persons.
