*BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPT FOILED BY PS LAKHANPUR; 08 BOVINES RESCUED; 01 PERSON ARRESTED & SEIZED TRUCK INVOLVED*PRESS RELEASE;KATHUA, 19 NOV:-Tightening the noose of bovine smugglers within the district, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma-IPS*, rescued 08 bovines from NHW Lakhanpur area, 01 Person arrested and seized 01 vehicle ( Truck ) involved.On dated 18.11.2025 a police team of PS Lakhanpur led by SHO P/S Lakhanpur Insp. Tariq Ahmed under the guidance of *Addl. SP Kathua Sh. Rahul Charak JKPS* & DySP DAR Kathua Sh. Ritesh Samyal during naka/ checking NHW Lakhanpur area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle ( Truck) bearing Reg. no. PB02EN-5298 which was being driven by a person namely Raj Masi S/o Romesh Masih R/o Kalanoor District Gurdaspur PB who was enrouted from Kathua towards Jammu was signalled to stop for checking.During checking of the said vehicle, 08 bovines(07 Cows & 01 Oxen) were found loaded in the vehicle mercilessily which were rescued, Driver arrested and 01 truck was seized on spot.On this, an instant case has been registered at P/S Lakhanpur vide FIR No. 141/2025 U/S 223/BNS, 11/PCA act while further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.#Kathua Police is striving hard and taking every possible step especially to curb the Bovine Smuggling menace from society.
