*01 Missing Lady Recovered by P/S Billawar* Press Release;Kathua; 29 December:- J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS* traced out one missing lady and handed over to her legal heirs in the jurisdictional area of PS Billawar.On 26-12-2025 one Person namely Bantu Ram S/O Angrezo R/O Mooni Tehsil Billawar District came at this P/S and lodged a written complaint regarding missing of his wife namely Babli Devi W/o Bantu Ram R/o Mooni Age- 30 years . On receiving complaint a missing report was entered at this P/S vide GD No.17 dated 26-12-2025 and a team of Ps Billawar led by *SHO Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh Neeraj Padyar* searched various places and with the help of technical assistance along with timely human intervention recovered the missing lady. After completing all legal formalities the said missing lady handed over to her legal heirs. Moreover missing report stands closed.

DC Udhampur reviews implementation of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities ActUDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 09: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur today chaired a meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act to review its implementation in the district.The meeting was attended by Additional SP Sandeep Bhat; District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta and officers from other concerned departments.During the meeting, nine cases were placed before the Committee for review. After detailed deliberations, one case was approved and relief assistance amounting to Rs 75,000 was sanctioned to the affected individual. While 02 cases were deferred till the next meeting and 6 cases were dropped.The DC reiterated the core objectives of the Committee, including timely registration and investigation of cases, adequate support and protection to victims and effective enforcement of the Act. The district-level data was thoroughly examined to identify gaps and areas requiring further improvement.The DC also stressed on prompt fund disbursement, transparent processes and regular monitoring to ensure that the rights of SC/ST communities are fully safeguarded under the provisions of the Act.
